WOAH

The Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS Agreement) encourages the members of the World Trade Organization (WTO) to base their sanitary measures on international standards, guidelines and recommendations, where they exist. The World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH, founded as OIE) is the WTO reference organisation for standards relating to animal health and zoonoses.

The World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH, founded as OIE) Terrestrial and Aquatic Animal Health Codes provide standards for improving animal health and welfare and veterinary public health worldwide, including through standards for safe international trade in terrestrial and aquatic animals and their products. The manuals provide a standardised approach to the diagnosis of the diseases listed in the Terrestrial and Aquatic Codes

The standards are based on the most recent scientific and technical information and are available at https://www.woah.org/en/what-we-do/standards/
